Why I Listen To Podcasts and The Ones I Recommend

If you're not listening to podcasts while you're cleaning, cooking, DRIVING, working out or whatever else, where you been, friend?!

I've shared in the past my love for ever self-growth and goal setting. And if the Bible says we are "transformed by the renewing of our mind" then don't you think it's good to feed our minds with good things. Information that builds us up, challenges us, and teaches us?

My round up list of podcasts I'm enjoying are just that! Informative, mainly faith-based, and presented in a conversational type of way that makes it easy to follow while being challenged and inspired.

WHy I started listening to podcasts

MY HUSBAND. That simple.

Calvin is a self-learner. He's all about reading a book on a topic or person he wants to learn more about. Calvin is constantly intaking information that is helpful, resourceful, intersting, informative and challenging. He will seek out said information in any way it is provided.

Insert podcasts.

The Art of Manliness. That was the first podcast I listened to and fell in love with. And it's all about dudes and their manliness!! Crazy, right!?

Calvin quickly became a fan of this podcast upon discovering it and naturally as he would listen to it, he'd tell me about it. Finally on a road trip he played it for the both of us to listen and I must say... ladies, though this podcast is by men and for men (clearly)... each interview helped me to understand the men in my life more, most specifically, my husband.

So to sum, I started listening to podcasts because of my husband who first had me listen to the MANLIEST of podcasts. But thanks to the podcasts search bar, I've expanded from that and can now provide various recommendations for you.

How to listen to podcasts

Podcasts are rapidly growing in their popularity and now available for your enjoyment on various streaming providers, and mostly for FREE! If you have an Apple phone, the podcast app (purple icon) is already built into your phone. However, in the case you don't see it or might have deleted it, simply download it from your App Store. If you have an Andriod, Google's music streaming app (Google Play Music), which is preinstalled on your phone, can also support podcasts! Did you know Spotify also has podcast streaming? The only downsize is the selection is slimer as Spotify chooses what podcasts are available on their platform, but just select the podcast tab on the app and search to find your favorite podcasts.
